According to a report aiming to chart the consumption of news in the digital age, 43 percent of Britons between the ages of 16 and 24 are most likely to access news through social networks such as Facebook and Twiiter rather than search engines.

Facebook has been deemed the most important social network for news – accounting for over half of all news sharing in the UK (55 per cent), followed by email (33 per cent) and Twitter (23 per cent).

The first YouView boxes are due to go on sale at the end of this month. YouView aims to build on Freeview’s success, offering a subscription-free TV service with extra content available via the web. It will also offer a TV app store and a full search experience.

Kinect technology is now being used not solely for gaming but in the medical field too.

In a live Trial, Doctors at Brighton Sussex University Hospital operated the touchless technology in conjunction with an already in use 3D imaging system used for complex aneurysm procedures.

The Kinect technology allows the surgeon to move the images around without touching the screen thus avoiding infection control issues.
